Prof. Dr. Georgi Apostolov, Rector of IBSB, Delivers Keynote Lecture on the Human Factor in Aviation at Prestigious APG Forum
Prof. Dr. Georgi Apostolov, Rector of the International Business School of Bulgaria (IBSB), participated as an honorary guest speaker at the tenth anniversary edition of the Air Promotion Group (APG) Day – an annual event that brings together leading representatives of the aviation and the tourism industries.

During the forum, Prof. Apostolov delivered an inspiring presentation on the topic “The Human Factor and the Challenges Facing the Modern Aviation Industry”, emphasizing the growing importance of competent professionals, sustainable leadership, artificial intelligence, and the need for adaptability amid technological transformations and the dynamic nature of today’s aviation environment. His lecture resonated strongly with attendees and sparked a discussion on the necessity of innovation in human resource management within the sector.

The event also provided a platform for active dialogue and the development of strategic partnerships. IBSB and APG are currently exploring expanded cooperation in the field of tourism, where the university trains highly qualified specialists. Discussions are underway regarding the provision of student internships within APG’s partner structures, including established airlines, travel agencies, and tour operators.
Air Promotion Group is a global leader in the field of airline distribution with over 20 years of experience. APG represents the most extensive and well-established global network for passenger and cargo airline representation (GSA), with more than 100 offices in over 170 countries and a network of more than 200 partner airlines. The organization offers comprehensive solutions for airline distribution and marketing, including GSA services, NDC (New Distribution Capability)-based technology platforms, settlement services, and interline partnerships.
At the event, APG also showcased its latest innovation – the APG Platform, a cutting-edge distribution platform based on the NDC standard – a new technological framework for communication between airlines and their commercial partners, for which APG is officially certified by IATA (International Air Transport Association). Through its APG Platform, the group offers airlines a modern alternative to traditional distribution channels for tickets and aviation services, enabling cost optimization, enhanced control over product presentation, improved connections with end customers and travel agencies, and increased efficiency for airlines. Thanks to its expertise, global presence, and innovative approach, APG is recognized as a global partner for innovation and efficiency in the aviation business.

Prof. Dr. Georgi Apostolov’s participation underscores IBSB’s commitment to being an active contributor to professional dialogue and the development of strategic sectors such as aviation. IBS develops innovative educational programs, industry collaborations, and training closely aligned with the real economy and the global business environment. Partnerships with organizations like APG and leading travel agencies are a key part of the university’s strategy, providing students with practice-oriented education and direct access to professional environments.
By participating in high-level events like this, IBSB reaffirms its role as a modern, internationally oriented educational institution that prepares graduates for successful careers on a global scale.
