The IBSB Student, Goran Sechkov, Receives A Prestigious Award

On February 28, 2025, the prestigious “Student of the Year” ceremony was held in the “Ceremonial Hall” of the “Georgi S. Rakovski” Military Academy in Sofia. Among the honored young talents was Goran Sechkov, an “International Business” student at the International Business School Bulgaria (IBSB), who received an award in the category “Student – Volunteer.” The event was organized by the National Representation of Student Councils in Bulgaria in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Science and under the patronage of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Rosen Zhelyazkov.

The statuette and certificate were presented to him personally by Prof. Dr. Engineer Lilyana Valcheva, Chairperson of “Higher Education and Science” – KNSB.

Distinguished guests attended the ceremony, including Ivana Gyurova – Chairperson of the Student Council of IBSB, representatives of our student and academic community, as well as Goran’s family. They all shared this significant moment with him, filled with excitement and pride. Ivana shared that for her, Goran is a person with a big heart and exceptional spirit, who impresses not only with brilliant academic achievements but also with inspiring social commitment and nobility.

Goran was among the first volunteers who joined the fight against the devastating fire in the village of Eleshnitsa. In addition, he actively participates in search and rescue missions. He is a qualified rescuer during earthquakes and floods – another step in his desire to be useful and help people in the most difficult moments.

The story of Goran Sechkov is inspiring not only for the student community, but also for the whole society. He proves that personal initiative, dedication, and the desire to help others can make a real change and leave a long lasting impression. IBSB proudly stands behind its students and supports young leaders who not only seek knowledge but also apply their skills for the benefit of the society.
