Total value of the project: BGN 896,934.17, 100% of which is provided by the “Science and Education for Smart Growth” Operational Program. Budget of the International Business School in the amount of BGN 177,569.95.

Implementation period: 28.01.2022 – 31.12.2023

Main goal of the project: Improving the quality of higher education training through the introduction of a competency model, multidisciplinarity and interdisciplinarity and digital educational content in the preparation of profiled specialists for the needs of business in high-tech sectors and strategic infrastructure production.

The practical realization of the defined goal is achieved through the joint cooperation between the participating higher schools in the development and offering of joint innovative specialties for study in the Master’s Degree. Within the framework of the project, a modern educational infrastructure will be built, including digital classrooms and digital laboratories, with a view to providing an electronic environment for real-time online communication between trainers and learners.

The implementation of the project activities is related to the implementation of mobilities and specializations abroad of academic teachers, doctoral students and students, with the aim of gaining experience, sharing good practices and introducing innovative approaches to learning. Trainings will be organized and conducted to increase the professional qualification and improve the skills of the academic staff for the use of ICT-based educational technologies.

To track the realization of the graduates in the first year after graduation, systems and terminals will be created and adapted, united in a common network of career centers of the partnering higher schools. It is planned to organize and hold ten events related to opportunities for career guidance and counseling of students – career fairs and hackathons.

Target group: It was compiled according to the indicators of the operational program “Science and education for intelligent growth” and includes the following main groups: academic teachers, doctoral students and students. During the implementation of the project, it is envisaged that they will participate in various trainings and mobilities, with the aim of acquiring new knowledge, skills and competences, sharing good practices, stimulating teaching activity and increasing the quality of training.

Main activities:

  1. Development and introduction of joint curricula with digital educational content between the partnering higher schools;
  2. Implementation of digital educational content, electronic resources and cloud technologies in the educational process;
  3. Construction of digital classrooms and digital laboratories;
  4. Professional development and training of academic staff;
  5. Short-term specializations of academic teachers in foreign associate partners;
  6. Multiplication of the results of the conducted short-term specializations, by sharing academic teachers between the participating Bulgarian higher schools;
  7. Career counseling and guidance of students, by organizing career fairs together with the partnering higher schools, as well as by building systems for tracking the realization of the graduated students in the first year after graduation;
  8. Creation of networks of career centers in the partnering Bulgarian higher schools;
  9. Organization of student clubs for the development of entrepreneurial and presentation skills and digital creativity;
  10. Implementation of activities for the development of soft skills, for the development of professional implementation plans, for the organization of presentation events, interviews, discussions, etc., with a view to establishing a connection between the trained students and the employers;
  11. Outbound mobility of students, doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, specialists, young scientists and researchers abroad.
